On Friday we went down to the P2/3 classroom to try samba drumming with a lady called Helen which was really fun and we all enjoyed it. We were learning to play a song that goes “I’m so hungry I’m so hungry I’m so hungry I want my lunch”. Mrs Allan came with Miss Nesbit. We had to put headphones on as ear protectors.

Primary 4/5 have been learning about the Scottish parliament. We have learned a lot of interesting facts about the Scottish Parliament. We have been doing our own parties - Their names are Red Rose, Freedom , SCP ( Super Cool Politicians), Scots Rule The World, Green Grass, and The Megoes. We are going to the Scottish Parliament on the 26th of January and we will be learning about the Mace and what the First Minister does.

P4/5 has been learning about the three states of matter – solid, liquid and gas. They are researching how pipes burst. They put six test tubes in the staff room freezer that had different volumes of water in them and left them over night to see what volume of water cracked.
They have been learning about the atoms as well. They learnt that in solids the atoms are so close together that you need a sharp thing to apply pressure or applying heat. P4/5 have also learnt that the atoms in liquid are quite far apart but not completely apart because other wise it would be a gas because gas is really far apart and is very fast moving.

P4/5 are learning about the Scottish parliament and who works there. They are also learning about MSP’s, Scottish laws and the parties like SNP which stands for Scottish National Party. They will be paying a visit to the parliament and will meet lots of people and learn about what they do at the parliament.
They have learnt how people get votes and how people get elected. The parties are not birthday parties they are teams in the parliament which help the people in the parliament vote more easily for who they want to be elected.
P4/5 had signs put up in the classroom. The signs were put up and the children had to run to the side that they agreed with because their teacher Miss Nisbit asked a question and they had to run to the sign that said “agree” or “disagree”.

On the 12th of June P5 went to the cricket festival at Stirling County Cricket Club.
On the first match we won,
On the second match we won,
And on the third match we won!
Then we got into the quarter finals and were beaten by the over all winners.
It was fun even though we didn’t win.
