Forest School session at Park

Nursery children visited Ochlochy Park for their nursery session.

Activities included:

Snack, energetic play, a skeleton making challenge.

A skeleton from sticks and other natural resources.

Enjoying nursery snack.

Our Nursery Day

The nursery day comprises of a balance between planned and unplanned activites.

The unplanned activities arise as a result of the nursery being set up as a workshop, allowing children time and space to choose, experiment, explore, practice and interact with others as they play. These photographs will provide you with a view of how we learn this way.

Making Turnip Soup

Following on from our visit to a local garden to dig up a turnip, we made soup just like in the story, “The Enormous Turnip”. We also added some carrot, leek and onion. We then served the soup with crusty bread for a tasty snack.

Our Enormous Turnip

In preparation for our Burns Supper meal and so that children can learn where turnip grow and where they come from, children went on a visit to a local garden to dig up a turnip. Then they took a walk past the butcher’s shop to see some haggis which they took photographs of.

Visit to Printers to collect our book on 14th January

The nursery media group went to Stirling on Tuesday to collect their book and to print the poster for the book launch.
